I spoke of poverty and the war in ‘Nam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is the use of going on?<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n She replied softly: <\/p>\n\n\n\n ” All my life, I have worked for change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, I give you my dream. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You can make a difference, with the small things you do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The future is entirely left to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If things go wrong and you feel down, <\/p>\n\n\n\n Open your eyes and look around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don’t look for someone to blame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Search for an inspiration, to rise again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The changes you make may not always be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But perhaps you can give a child the chance to dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So get to work and maybe find<\/p>\n\n\n\n A small solution to help humankind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All my life, I have worked for a change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today I give you my dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today I decided to take a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I passed a teen loudly playing his boom box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He turned his music down low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And we chatted for a minute or so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He spoke of the homeless, and the streets filled with crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Couldn’t my generation have found the time<\/p>\n\n\n\n To ease some of this discord<\/p>\n\n\n\n By feeding the hungry, and housing the poor?<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n I replied softly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n All my life, I have worked for change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, I give you my dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I hope you make our world a better place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But you must work diligently; just keep the pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the changes and the dreams of the generation to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But with a little luck, a small battle may be won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Someday, we will merge. and in time you will be<\/p>\n\n\n\n The older generation looking back to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How have you answered all the questions you ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fixing tomorrow is now your task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All my life, I have worked for change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, I give you my dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What dream do you have to give away?
