It Is Better to Receive then to Give

Going to networking events should not be a place to practice your elevator speech. Instead, use this time to listen and learn what your clients are wanting or what your competitors are doing. Do not give out your business card, allow the other person to offer theirs. You can tuck away his/her information and contact them at a later time.

Now you are building relationships.
