In order to succeed in business, you must get people to like, know and trust you. It is quite difficult, if not near impossible, to get to know somebody who doesn’t participate in the conversations.
This is your chance to stand out from the crowd and start engaging in conversations. Find out what your market wants and give it to them.

It Is Better to Receive then to Give
Going to networking events should not be a place to practice your elevator speech. Instead, use this time to listen and learn what your clients are wanting or what your competitors are doing. Do not give out your business card, allow the other person to offer theirs. You can tuck away his/her information and contact them at a later time.
Now you are building relationships.
