A Goal is A Goal or Is It?

When you go on a trip do you actually sit down with a map and plan the trip, write down where you wanna go, the routes you will take, how long it might take to get to your destination OR do you just get in your car and take off hoping you get to where you want to go when you get there.

Setting your goals in your business is one of the most important habits you can cultivate for building your business big. Write down where you want to go with your business, how you’re going to get there and what it is going to take.

So what are we talking about here. Here is your map so to speak.

Long term Goals – This is the big Kahuna, what you are ultimately after. This is what you work so hard for everyday. Regardless of what people tell you, you won’t make six figures in 30 days, you won’t build your list in 30 days. Be patient do the work.

Mid term Goals – This is your report card. How are you doing are you staying on track? Set quarterly challenges, write them down and work hard to achieve them.

Short term Goals – This is where the rubber meets the road. It’s your day to day activities that you do to keep you motivated and moving forward. The two key words here are Daily and Do Them.

The internet is a big place and many people vying for your attention and promising you the moon. Remember you can’t get to six figures in 30 days, you can’t build your list in 30 days.

It is critically important that you develop your D.A.P. ( daily action plan). Network with as many people as you can but be friendly and not pushy they get that all day long. Add Value to them and be at peace.

Welcome Lucky One to Internet marketing, Online marketing, Network marketing, Affiliate marketing. These tags are pretty much the same depending on which arena you find your self involved with.

The internet is a Vast Frontier. There are millions of marketers on the internet marketing this and that and “Hoping to Make a Fortune”.

That statement in itself is the problem ” Hope to Make a Fortune In A Short Amount of Time”. Unfortunately the new people who want to make money online are sitting ducks for the marketers who know what’s going on and want to make a fortune in a short time and unfortunately the new person get’s sucked into the vortex.

Don’t get me wrong here. There are some beautiful people out there in the Vast Frontier that want you to succeed. The question is how long does it take to find those leaders.

That’s a good question?

The following is my Case Study and finding the mentors that I follow now.

It all started back in 2014. I thought it would be cool to have an online business. Easy money right! I already owned a small business in the offline world that was doing well and is still paying the bills to this day, but I also knew that I did not want to do that business for the rest of my life, but I struggled in the online world.

Why is that do you think? I knew how hard it was to build my offline business but I was lured to the instant riches with little or no work. That sounded good to me. No work, retire and move on and live the dream. Well! That’s what everyone was saying but that is not actually how it works.

I take part of the blame because I knew better. But I believed the hype anyway. That was the easy way out. I came to find out there is no easy way. It makes no difference whether you are building online or offline it still takes hard work.

So let’s go back to the original question. How long does it take to find those leaders that care enough about you and want you to succeed. Well, I found some of mine in my original quest.

Leaders like Janet Legere (Original Mentor) of Contact List Builder, Don Legere Her husband who is the (Blogging Master). Rob Gehrig of Traffic Leads 2 Income Viral Mailer is truly a (Traffic Master) and Jared Meyers who built the most amazing program that I can hook my wagon to. Genesis Lifestyle Network. But you know what, I left all of those leaders because I was lured away by instant riches. If you are lured away by instant riches.

Do Not do that!

No matter what you do, no matter what business you want to build it takes work, please do not be deceived.

Does your regular JOB take work? Of, course it does. There is no easy fix here. You must do the work. No exceptions.

This is my best advice to you. You need to align yourself with the right people that you trust and stop chasing programs. If you don’t do the work it matters not what program you are in it will not work. If you trust your mentors, they will not lead you astray.

How long have you struggled trying to make any money online? Be honest! Are you sowing your wild oats? If you are come back and Align yourself with marketers that care about you and want you to succeed.

Setting Your Roots Deep

What does that actually mean? A tree cannot survive with shallow roots, sooner or later it will succumb to the pressures of the environment around it.

If you desire to succeed in online marketing, you must set your roots deep with proper training and resist the pressures that are beating down on you on a daily basis.

The problem I have had with online marketing in the past is this… There are millions of people online marketing something. That something is very important to them for about a week and they move on to something else. I know I have done it.

By setting your roots, you need to dig deep, build a foundation, find some people that care about you and your success. Once you find that team you can work with, plant your tree, grow your roots deep and prosper.

Speaking of teams had a great training today from my Mentor Janet Legere talking about follow up in your business.

Follow up is the key to growing your business. People out there need our help and we are doing a disservice to them by not following up with them when the show interest in what we are doing.

If they decide that it is not for them, wish them well and move on and help the next person. In regards to follow up did you know…

48% of all marketers make one follow up call and quit. And that….

25% of all marketers make two follow up calls and quit. And that….

15% of all marketers make 3 follow up calls and quit. And that….

12% of all marketers go back, and back, and back and don’t quit

They make 80% of all sales.

The moral of the story is Don’t Quit! Follow up is the key to your success.

Online marketing is all about relationships. Your contacts are real people not just a number. Touch as many people as you can and treat them fairly just like you like to be treated.
